7 top tips for email marketing results

Email marketing is still an important tool for businesses, whilst it can be easy to ignore email and head straight for pay per click and social media, email marketing is a platform that is still going strong and you should always aim to make the most of your email marketing campaign.

Promise something good

People love to benefit themselves, as selfish as it sounds we love to know what we can gain from your email, so promising your customers that you can make them happier, more informed or better at business means that your customers will want to find out more about your business or what you can offer them. 

Keep it simple

Long winded, text heavy emails aren’t going to keep people interested for long, your customers want information now, long emails just won’t cut it. Get straight to the point with your information, keep it simple and get results. 

Add personality 

Your emails are a way of talking to your customers, so do exactly that. Add a hint of your own personality, use words and phrases that you would use in real life, just because you’re communicating through email doesn’t mean you can’t be human.

Include a call to action 

Never forget a call to action, yes you want people to enjoy reading your content but you also want them to click through to your website. If you don’t include a call to action then customers are simply going to read your email and forget it, a call to action will make them want to go to your website there and then.

Include links 

Along with including a call to action you should also include links to your website, whether it’s a link to your website homepage, to a specific section or even to your contact page. Your customers want to be able to simply click through to your website quickly and easily, offering them links gives you the perfect opportunity to do so.  

Mobile friendly 

Don’t forget that your emails need to be optimised for mobile, whilst it’s a given that your website needs to responsive you also need to make sure that your emails are too. Nowadays it’s more common for people to receive emails on mobile devices, they need to read your emails too.  

Send regular emails 

Be consistent with your emails, update your customers on any new developments in your business and remember to stick to any schedule you might have, if you want to send your posts weekly then make sure you stick to that, not being able to stay consistent means that your .
