Top digital marketing trends to look out for in coming years!

So far 2016 has seen some important shifts in marketing trends, with many businesses opting to go digital, traditional marketing such as TV and print has stagnated and digital marketing has grown even larger.

With 2017 set to be another huge year for the constantly changing digital landscape, there are a number of current and upcoming trends to be aware of to consider integrating into your marketing strategy.

Content Marketing

With so much focus on the customer experience, there are many brands out there looking to boost their content marketing in order to build better customer relationships. Content marketing covers a number of areas from blog posts, videos, social media posts and even podcasts giving businesses a number of ways to engage with customers.

The key focus of your content marketing should not only be to engage with your audience but to also provide keyword rich text which will allow your business to rank higher on search engines. Your content marketing should target the best audience for your business, reaching out at the right time, with the right information and with more people influenced by blog posts and videos over traditional marketing, it’s likely that in coming years content marketing will grow even larger.

Influencer Marketing

There’s already been a huge change in influencer marketing in recent months and it’s now not uncommon to see brands working alongside social media influencers and celebrities in order to promote their products or brand, something we’re likely to be seeing for years to come.

Influencer marketing will only continue to grow over the next year with more and more brands seeing the huge potential in marketing in this way. Whilst it’s not a perfect way of marketing and can be difficult to get right, as long as it keep generating sales and leads, it’s unlikely to disappear any time soon.

Live Streaming

Live broadcasts have reached new levels this year with many brands now using live streaming services to show off their company and what it has to offer. Live streaming can be a great way of telling the story of you and your business. Through apps like Periscope, Facebook and even Snapchat, there are a number of unique ways in which businesses can introduce live streaming to their brand and incorporate it into their marketing.

Whilst some businesses can benefit more from live streaming than others, live streaming can be an effective way for businesses to capture new audiences and show your business is a fully working, active company, improving your trustworthiness and helping build a customer relationship.

Mobile first

Today mobile is one of the most used ways of browsing online, and it’s important that business not only optimise their websites for mobiles and tablets but also their marketing campaigns too. In recent month even Google have made changes to their Adwords service in order to consider mobile use over desktop.

If your business can create a marketing system which not only captures the users attention but also offers them an easy to use service and directions to your product or service, then you’re likely to engage with a new audience, one you’re less likely to capture without mobile optimisation.

If you’re unsure where to go next with your marketing and struggling to keep up to date, then maybe it’s time you started looking ahead to the trends likely to appear in upcoming years, optimising them now could benefit your hugely later.
