The real reasons customers aren't buying from you

You can see that customers are visiting your website, you’re investing in ads and promoting your website through social media but your customers just aren’t interested in buying. Don’t feel disheartened though, there’s a few reason this could be happening and there’s plenty of ways to resolve the issue and win those customers.

One of the main reasons potential customers may not be buying from you, is due to unexpected costs once they are on your website. It could be a high shipping cost or an item being more expensive than advertised, either way if the customer has to pay unexpected costs, they aren’t going to buy from your website. There’s a simple way you can solve this issue, however, by making all costs clear to your customers when they first arrive on the website, you could also feature a separate page with any additional information, such as costs, so that customers know exactly how much they are going to pay.

It could also be the case that your website is coming up for the wrong search terms, for example when people search for ‘mens suit’ your website may be coming up in the results, when in reality you sell all kinds of clothing for everyone, if someone is looking for specifically mens suits, goes onto your website and doesn’t find them, they’ll just leave. Make sure your keywords are relevant and that you are appearing in correct search results and you’re sure to find that more people will begin to buy from your store.

The layout of your website is important and if it’s poor this could easily put potential customers off buying from you. You may have an outdated website, an over complicated one, or a website that simply doesn’t say enough, whichever it might be, any of these could be a surefire way to put potential customers off buying from you. If that is the case, why not consider making some changes? you could simply change a few things or do an entire redesign, either one could make a huge difference.

If your payment process is complicated or confusing, it’s not likely that your customers will go ahead and buy anything from your store. The majority of customers simply want to add their details and confirm their purchases without any other confusion and without it taking too long. So if the payment process is difficult then don’t be surprised if your customers aren’t buying.

There’s a number of reasons why potential customers aren’t buying from your store, however you don’t need to give up, there are lots of ways you can attract customers, all it takes is a little bit of research, knowledge and a few changes and you’ll be on the way to success.
