Infrastructure Enhancements: How We’re Improving Our Services

We’ve been working hard over the last few months to ensure that our client’s websites stay fit for purpose, implementing a number of cutting-edge solutions and updates that meet each businesses requirements and allow for even better functionality. 

SSL Upgrade Programme

Last year Google announced that SSL Certificates will become a must for websites, pushing for more secure websites and pages and offering a boost in search engine rankings for those who install SSL certificates. An SSL certificate allows someone’s browser to bridge a secure connection with your server, meaning that all information is securely transferred.

Since the subject of SSL certificates have become more significant, we recently installed SSL certificates in all of our websites, including our legacy websites, protecting any information that is being transmitted. 

Introducing HTTP/2 

The primary goal of this protocol upgrade is the overall improvement of performance, focusing on improving latency, reducing the required number of TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) connections. This update allows improvements to the user experience, getting content over HTTP, all whilst keeping the main semantics of HTTP/1.1. 

Latest Firewall Installation 

Improving our security is important not just for us, but also for our customers, which is why we’re also happy to announce that we’re nearly finished completing our new firewall installation. A necessity for our system, the installation of our firewall allows us to continue to improve the security of our system, as well as giving us more control of our infrastructure. 

Automated Updates To Widely Used Software 

We recently opted to automate the updates of our critical software in order to reduce vulnerabilities that could be caused by human error. This update helps ensure that software is kept secure at all times.
