Email marketing: why is it still relevant?

Remember the days when everyone loved email? When email was exciting, coming home and logging on to check your emails might’ve even been the highlight of your day. Maybe.

But then everything changed, our attitudes to email changed, no longer was it exciting receiving email. Your inbox no longer filled with exciting messages from friends, instead it now slowly fills with spam, schemes and marketing emails.

In the day of WhatsApp, Facebook messenger and iMessage, there are plenty of other ways for people to communicate, which often leaves businesses think they can manage without email, however this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Can easily reach mobile customers

Although usually associated with desktop devices, in fact most people have their email accounts linked to their mobiles or tablets and are much more likely to check their emails on these devices, making email a great way to reach out to mobile customers.

Now that phones and tablets have large, high resolution screens, you don’t need to worry about changing your email marketing strategy so that they work on mobile devices, with one solid campaign sent out to all subscribers to all devices, email marketing has never been easier.

Offer coupons and promotions

Using your email marketing to offer coupons and promotional offers is one of the main reasons email marketing stays so relevant. Emailing your customers to give them news of a sale or providing them with an additional coupon is an important reason as to why people subscribe for company emails, so it’s important you don’t disappoint.

Not only will offering coupons make your customers happy but it is brilliant way to increase sales, offering a promo code will ultimately lead more customers buying from your company.

Keeps customers informed

Email marketing doesn’t have to be something used just to sell, it’s a great tactic when it comes to helping your customers stay connected with your business. Using email to send out a newsletter can be a great way to remind customers of your presence and show off the work you have been doing.

If your business looks busy and active, customers are more likely to come back, if you never send out emails or fail to let customers know what work you’ve been doing, they’re likely to forget about you and head elsewhere.

email marketing may be seen by many as a old tactic but it still remains an important tool in marketing your business. There’s no reasons for businesses to ignore email marketing, it’s an inexpensive and direct way of promoting your business and one which will be around for years to come.
