Case Study – How We’re Helping Durham’s Students Find Accommodation With Bill Free Homes

Introduction To The Project

Bill Free Homes are an award-winning student letting agency providing bill free housing to students of Durham University and New College Durham. When Bill Free Homes reached out to us they were looking to update their current site in order to provide the best possible service across all their areas.

Unfortunately, their previous management system imposed a number of limitations, therefore we set out to completely redevelop the website to not only make the necessary steps forward and help provide an improved user experience but also modernise the site for the demographic they wish to target.  

The Process 

Following our initial meeting, we concluded that it would be important to develop a number of new systems that could benefit the way that customers research and book viewings for properties they may be interested in. 

In order to offer their customers an experience that is tailored to their needs, we developed Bill Free Homes a system that allows students to book property viewings in real time, available 24 hours a day, this is ideal for students who are often busy and need to do things out of hours. 

Another feature we included within the redesign was an interactive map tool, the map shows students the PPPW, number of bedrooms and the location of the property simply with just a click on the map. This allows people to get a quick overview of the property across all of Durham, without having to go out and look.

Overall we also modernised the design of the website so that it targeted the latest digital trends, helping the site stay up to date with the competition but also keeping it relevant to the young demographic Bill Free Homes are looking to reach. As well as redesigning the site, we also improved each page too so it provided the same content but did so in a much clearer, more stylish manner.  

Results 

Our clients are pleased with the website we have provided and are happy that the new website and system is fitting to their services, but also as suits their brand as a whole.
