Branding is one of, if not the, most valuable asset for any business and is something which needs to be carefully thought out and carried out properly in order to create a solid brand to represent your business.

This should be an obvious one but before even starting to plan your brand identity it’s important to find out who you should be trying to appeal to and who your brand should be relevant to. It’s important to be specific when defining your audience and you need to be clear of which groups of people you are targeting, in order to create an effective branding and marketing strategy.

Know your message 

You have to know what your message it and want you want your business to achieve before developing your brand further. By knowing your message, you can incorporate your brand goals into your brand identity. Not to forget that establishing the goal of your brand can also be of real help you when it comes to communicating and informing customers of what you wish to achieve.

Know your tone of voice 

Once you have established your message and your audience, you need to determine your brands tone of voice and overall persona. You need to create a persona which appeals to your customers and reflects the purpose of your company. Since your brand personality is one of the most important parts of your brand, it’s key you keep it professional and relevant yet simple and easy for your customers to understand.

Create your own logo

Don’t ignore your social media, in order to create an established brand you need to have great online presence, including on social media. Having an active Facebook, Twitter and Instagram account means you can get your brand out there and reach out to new audiences as well as have a great way to speak to your established customers. Ignoring social media is something you can no longer do in an age where everything is digital.  

Be daring

Don’t be afraid to stand out, if you want to company to become an established and recognisable brand then it’s ok to be bold and be daring. When it comes to your brand it’s good to think outside the box and try to offer something that hasn’t been previously seen.
